RECOMMENDATION ON BEHALF OF PECOCUWI TOURS: The 2 day 1 night tour is very rushed particularly since the rise in the train prices means that most people choose to walk back to the Hidroelectric plant. We recommend staying a second night in Aguas Calientes. By doing this you have more time to explore Machu Picchu, more time to enjoy the hot springs and can take a more leisurely walk back to the Hidroelectric Plant. The cost of an extra night is just US$15/person for the hotel.
